There are are two types of screen in the app. The first screenshot represents your default screen. It contains the following information:
- Current exchange rates
- a list of your accounts and wallets.
The second variant of the main screen includes:
- Current exchange rates,
- income/expenditure for today, current week and month,
- turnover (revenue minus expenses) for the current month,
- existing balance in the base currency.
Also, here you can create income or expenditure transactions, go to the list of currencies, income, expenses and cash. You can also go to the Balance Report by clicking on the corresponding icon.
Which type of screen to use is for you to decide. It is easy to switch between them by selecting “Change your main screen” from the menu in the upper right corner.
This is the main menu, from which you can get to any part of the application. Navigation drawer can be opened by pulling the left edge of the screen or by clicking on the icon next to the title of the program «Home Finance», located at the top.
List of all transactions for the selected period. Here you can add new transactions, view, change or delete existing transaction.
Here, while creating a transaction, you can choose the type of transaction: income, expense or transfer, as well as choose the cash, category, set the date and time of the transaction. If you want to add up the amounts – why not use a built- in calculator. Also, you can always add the necessary comments.
Contains a list of your wallets, bank accounts, credit cards and electronic money. You can create groups of any nesting level. The group balance shows the sum of all sub-elements at today’s exchange rate. Warning! If a group already contains nested elements, the group cannot be made an element. Similarly, if there are transactions within an element, it cannot be made a group. Groups cannot be used in transaction – only the elements can be.
Contains a list of all categories to enable detailed itemization of expenses or income. You can develop your categories according to your needs or organize the details at the desired level. For example, the category “Shopping: Food” you can drill down to specific products or groups of products. Warning! If a group already contains nested elements, the group cannot be made an element. Similarly, if there are transactions within an element, it cannot be made a group. Groups cannot be used in transaction – only the elements can be.
Contains a list of currencies. Here you can mark a chosen currency or change the base currency. For example, if you want to see all the reports and balances in dollars, then you must choose ‘dollar’ as your base currency. This can be done directly from the list. Long press on the line will open a context menu with a list of possible actions. Also, the current exchange rate is reflected in the list. Exchange rates are loaded automatically when you start the program, if your device is connected to the Internet. You can also manually download the currency exchange rates by clicking on the menu “Update Rates”. Exchange rates of the currencies added by you manually, cannot be updated automatically.
This report shows what exactly you were spending money on in a given period, in the base currency. The diagram allows you to see the largest item of expenditure and help you understand how you can optimize costs. By default, the report shows the first level categories, and you may wish to study in detail the specific group digging into subgroups until you reach bedrock level.
Displays cash balance available to you on a particular day in the base currency. The red line shows the balance at the beginning of a period. If by the end of the period your balance falls below the red line, then you spent more than earned. If you closed the period with a balance above the red line, then you managed to increase your savings.
Shows income and expenditure in the base currency for the selected period in the context of days.

If you choose to password-protect your data – do not forget it, otherwise you will lose access to the data and have to start all over again. Before installing the password we recommend that you back it up. Then if you forget the password, delete and reinstall the app, and you will be able to restore the data from the backup.
Here you can create a backup manually, as well as view a list of existing backups and, if necessary, download one of them. Also you can delete copies you do not need. Backup copies are stored on your phone in the folder: Home-finance.org
